Minutes of the Board Meeting

Absent from the Meeting:

Elton Dyal, Program Director. We miss you Elton. Take care.

Call to Order:

President Walch called the meeting to order at 9:30 AM.

After a short review of the March minutes, Vern motioned and Gary seconded to accept the minutes. Motion passed.

Treasurer's Report:

Vern reported that the bank balance as of April 08 was $1,058. Vern will send out a note via email after May 19 meeting to remind all those members who have not paid their dues of $15.00.

Vern submitted a 2008 Receipts & Disbursement Summary. Good job, Vern

Vern also mentioned that a new member does not have to pay dues, for this fiscal year, if they join after May, 31.

Motion made by Al and seconded by Gary to accept the Treasurer's report. Motion passed

Program's Report:

It was announced that Bobby Balbock, the Airline Pilot that was scheduled to speak at the April 21 General Meeting is not available

Ben Thompson announced that he can substitute with Aircraft accident photos and other interesting items to keep the audience entertained. Thanks you Ben for your help.

Vern made a motion to appoint Earl Cuyler as a Board Member, with the possibility of Earl taking the Treasurer's position. Tom seconded and the motion passed.

Vern will send a note via email to all pilots asking whether or not they are still interested in fly-in's and, if NOT, Why Not? There seems to be a lack of interest in fly-in's on the part of members as well as pilots.

Jon Melby, the Pitts Special Pilot, will speak at the May General Meeting, Monday, May 19, 2008.

Activity Report:

The weekend fly-in to San Diego is still scheduled for April 19 & 20.

It was suggested to plan for a Field trip to the Apache Plant at Mesa Airport. Earl will make contact and obtain information.

Provost Report:

Gray will write an article about Jon Melby, speaker for May, and contact the Splash for publishing

Webmaster's Report:

Earl Cuyler has kindly agreed to learn how to do the Roster

and the updates. This will help lessen Vern’s load. Thanks Earl.

New Business:

The wireless mike will be used for members in the audience who wish to ask questions or comment. The corded mike will be used for those people at the podium and the speaker. Emphasize to the speaker to always speak directly into the mike.

The consensus of the Board was to keep the updates.

Give a pen to speakers that are not members.

Next Board meeting will be on May 13, 2008.

Gary made a motion to adjoin and Al seconded. The motion passed at 10:45 AM.
