Minutes of the Board of Directors

Present at the Meeting:

Ben Thompson, Video/Audio Production

Note: Ben is scheduled for an operation on his back shortly and will be unable to help with the video/audio aides during his recovery. President Bob offered to act in Ben's place. The Board wished the best for Ben.

Call to Order:

President Walch called the meeting to order at 9:30.

Al made a motion to accept he electronic minutes of the Board of Director's meeting
of February 10, 2009. Gary seconded and the motion passed

Treasurer's Report:

Earl passed out a financial sheet showing a balance of $1,428.70. 64 members have paid
their dues to date. Tom made a motion and Gary seconded, to accept the Treasurer's Report. Motion passed. Good report, Earl.

Activity Report:

Earl reported that only one aircraft and two members have signed up for the fly-in to Payson Airport on Saturday, March 21. Gary mentioned that he will also have his new aircraft ready to go.

The cook out at Sisk Park is on the slate for April 17 at 4 PM. Menu includes ribs, chili and corn bread. BYOB and expect a good time.

The fly-in to Ryan Field is scheduled for April 18.

There will be war birds at Chandler Airport on April 18. The aircraft will include a B-17, a T-6 and other vintage birds. The affair will start at 8 AM. Sounds like fun times.

A field trip is planned for March 28 to the Cessna Facility at Gateway Airport. Bob will announce it at the meeting on Monday evening.

Al made a motion and Gary seconded, to accept the Activity Report The motion passed.

Programs Report:

Elton was unable to attend; however, he has arranged to have Phillip Scharber, Regional Sales Manager for Hondajet Southwest, to speak at the April 20 General Meeting. Vern prepared a biography on Mr. Scharber for the SLAC web site.

Publicity Report:

Vern and Gary prepared articles for the Splash regarding the fly-in's to Payson Airport on March 21 and to Ryan Field on April 18 and the cook out at Sisk Park on April 17.

Web Masters Report:

Vern prepared a sheet for the Board regarding "Go-Daddy", the hosting service for the SLAC web site.The Board reviewed the proposed revision to simplify the service. Gary made a motion and Tom seconded, to accept the revision. The motion passed.

Gary made a motion to adjourn at 10:08. Earl seconded and the motion passed.

The next Board meeting will be on Tuesday, April 14 at 9:30 in the Sun Lakes Country Club house.
