Aero Club members enjoy Fly-In

Eight Sun Lakes Aero Club (SLAC) members participated in one of the more successful fly-ins in recent years January 27 when four airplanes converged on Marana airport for breakfast.  Pilots, their planes and passengers:  Steve Perkins, Piper Lance, Gene Evans, Bill Brown, Jim Theobald; Richard Simmons, Cessna 172 and Gary West;  Gary Vacin, Grumman AA-1B; and Paul Beeks, Piper Cherokee.

Following breakfast, Vacin had an opportunity to visit the Hobbs Build Center 10 miles west of Marana.  Located on 40 acres with a 2,880 x 60ft. private airstrip, the center  provides a facility for pilots to assemble Lightning aircraft kits.
