SLAC members visit ASU programs

At Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport

Ten Sun Lakes Aero Club (SLAC) members toured the Arizona State University aeronautical program at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport at Mesa  March 28.  The program provides students with a solid foundation that prepares them for employment in major and regional airlines, general and corporate aviation and the military.  The visitors viewed the programís aircraft,  air traffic control simulators, including a tower simulator,  and other facilities.

SLAC members making the trip were Gary Woodbury, Ron and Sallie Rueter,  Jim Theobald, Tom and Judy Smith,  Eugene Evans, Dick Simmons, George Peterson, and Bill Brown.

Now in its 18th year, SLAC sponsors programs the third Monday each month November through April at the Sun Lakes Country Club. The programs are open to all Sun Lakes residents and others interested in aviation.  More information on the club is available from Bob Walch, 895-8869 or Gary Vacin, 298-7017, or at the clubís web site, www.sunlakesaeroclub.org
