Aero club flies in to Ryan Field
††††† Eight Sun Lakes Aero Club (SLAC) members and two guests showed up
at Ryan Field for the clubís first fly-in breakfast of the season. Gene Evans and
Gary West were passengers in Steve Perkinsí Cessna 182. Jim Theobald rode
with Bill Brown in Brownís Cessna Cardinal. Bob DeLong and Jim Ingelmund
were passengers in Paul Beeksí Bellanca Cruisemaster. Doug Whitaker arrived
†in a Cessna 172. The eight were met by honorary member Jessica Cox and
†her husband, Christopher. Cox, the first armless woman to receive a pilotís
†license, will be featured speaker at SLACís monthly gathering beginning at
†6:30 p.m. January 18 at the Sun Lakes Country Clubís Mirror Room. The public
is invited to attend.
SLAC is an official Sun Lakes organization made up of pilots, former pilots and others having any interest in aviation. The club sponsors monthly gatherings as well as fly-ins and field trips November through April.
