Why Boeing Lost Out To Airbus

Well ----  maybe Boeing lost out, but only for a short time if the specs on the new Boeing 797 hold up as published.  The 797 will fly farther, fly faster, carry more passengers (1,000) and do it at less cost per passenger mile.  These four items, alone, will doom the A380 once the 797 goes into production.  And, with only three engines, the 797 will cut engine costs (maintenance. & spares) by 25%.

The 797 is a "no brainer" for the world's airlines.

The A380 interior (for those airlines that choose this configuration-below) does look great
