ON THE FLY

Question: What is the maximum airspeed I can fly in Class B airspace?

Answer: The regulation 14 CFR 91.117 provides the aircraft speed restrictions in various classes of airspace. For Class B airspace, the maximum indicated airspeed is 250 knots (below 10,000 feet msl). If you are flying in a VFR corridor, however, the maximum indicated airspeed is 200 knots.

For additional information on airspace, view Chapter 3, Section 1, of the Aeronautical Information Manual. For an additional resource, download the airspace flash cards provided by the AOPA Air Safety Foundation.
