- Question: With respect to aircraft ownership, is co-ownership the same as a
partnership?
Answer: No, co-ownership
is when two or more people jointly own an aircraft. Their titles on the
registration form are co-owner, and the signatures of all owners are
required on all aircraft documents. A partnership
is a formal group of people who are operating a business for profit and
are usually registered with their state for state tax purposes. This
arrangement allows one person within the partnership, with the proper
title and position, to sign any and all aircraft documents. View AOPA's section on Aircraft
Ownership for additional information
