So Long Friends…

As many of you know, this is my last month in the travel business. We are moving to Sun City Texas. I have enjoyed writing Green’s Travel Tips and developed some great friends. Some booked travel with me, some just asked for information and some just read this newsletter, at least I hope you did!

As I See It…

I have enjoyed working with accomplished, professional women throughout my career. In my first job 63 years ago, my manager was a great woman, Evelyn Smith, restaurant owner. In following years, I have worked with women teachers, doctors, dentists, board members, employees and clients.  And my manager as I leave the travel agency is also a woman

Final Words…

Air travel is challenging; we all know that. In too many cases, your bags take a different route. I stopped that from happening to us twice this year. The last time the airline agent was about to place a sticker on our bag routing it to Honolulu, Hawaii. I stopped her-- we were going to Los Angeles. Everyone can make a mistake. You make a mistake if you don’t personably check your tags. If you’re not sure, ask what the codes mean. Don’t be embarrassed; it’s easier to ask for information at this point, than to file a lost luggage report.

I enjoy writing and have written newsletters of one type or another for about 30 years. It’s fun to share knowledge, opinions and experiences. Many of you said “Green’s Travel Tips” helped them personally.

Keep traveling -- it will keep you young. Meet people from all over the world. Bring them the knowledge that people from America are friendly, caring people.

Sean, the Marine… My grandson recently graduated from Marine Basic training the 31st of August. He was in a unit where they were scheduled for four years of officer’s training at a University of their choice. He moved into a dorm Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. On Monday, September 3, they cancelled the program and ordered him to infantry training and following that to deployment in Iraq.
