· Speaker at the last meeting on November 21st:
Lt Col Edward H. (Ned) Linch III spoke to us about his experiences during a tour of duty in Iraq. This was very timely considering Congress’s vacillation on continuing the struggle in Iraq. You may recall that Col Linch spoke to us at the May 16th meeting. He covered “See and Avoid” which was very interesting and timely. .

FUTURE FLY-IN
CONSIDERATION
USS Midway Aircraft Carrier & Museum –
This Fly-In has been cancelled twice due to weather
conditions, and will be reviewed for a future Fly-In, probably in the Spring of
2008. This destination ranked 1st
on a survey of members. Member Jim Theobald was
based on the Midway and has offered to guide our group. He said he probably knows more than they tell
you on the tap

On one of SLAC’s Fly-Ins
Member Cliff Rosch has won
First in Class and Best of Show at the Greenway Car Show in Glendale, AZ the
weekend of November 4th for his 1965 Shelby Cobra. The car is a replica of a
1965 Shelby Cobra. This is not a kit car but it is hand made in South Africa.
This is serial number 18 of 50 made and it is a diamond addition car! It has a Roush racing motor 342 Cubic inch
engine, 450 HP at 420 foot lbs of torque.
This was a good weekend in Glendale AZ.
I hope to add a few more before the February. 23rd show in Chandler.
