Q. Do I need a pilot’s license to join SLAC?

A. No. If you are interested in Aviation and Aviation related activities you are welcome to join the Sun Lakes Aero Club.


Q. Are dues pro-rated if joining during the year?

             A. Indirectly.  If you join after May 31st, there are no dues for the balance of the calendar year.

 

Q. Can I take my spouse on Fly-Ins and Field Trips sponsored by SLAC?

A. Yes. You may take your spouse and friends provided there is space available.

 

Q. Should I wear my Name Tag when attending Events sponsored by SLAC?

A. Yes.

 

Q. Do I need to sign a Release of Liability Form if I participate in a SLAC activity?

A. No.  We no longer require a Form

Q. How frequently does SLAC hold Fly-Ins?

A. Fly-Ins are being scheduled as follows:

1.      There is a fly-in to Coolidge on the First Saturday of each month sponsored by the Kiwanis Club

2.      There are fly-ins arranged by the Scottsdale Breakfast Club on the second Saturday of each month year round.  www.ScottsdaleBreakfastClub.org

3.      There will be fly-ins arranged by SLAC on the Third Saturday of each month October to May

4.      There will be Field Trips arranged on the Fourth Saturday of each month October to May

Q. Do I have to be a resident of Sun Lakes to become a member?

A. No.

 

Q. Does SLAC own any planes?

A. No.  All planes owned or rented by members.

Q. Do I need to attend the monthly meetings In order to be a member

A. No.  Many members cannot make the monthly meetings due to time conflicts or driving distance, however they receive the Updates and participate in Fly-Ins and Field Trips.
