Q. Do I need a pilot’s license to join SLAC?

A. No. If you are interested in Aviation and Aviation related activities you are welcome to join the Sun Lakes Aero Club.

 

Q. Are dues pro-rated if joining during the year?

             A. Indirectly.  If you join after May 31st, there are no dues for the balance of the calendar year.

 

Q. If a husband and wife join SLAC, do they both pay annual dues
             A. No.  The annual dues are for an individual or for a family.

 

Q. What is the purpose of the monthly meetings?

A. Speakers present interesting programs and the members present are informed of upcoming activities.


Q. Where and when are the monthly meeting held?

A. Monthly meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, October through May.  They are held in the Mirror room at Sun Lakes Phase I.  Coffee and refreshments at 6:30 pm and the meetings start at 7:00 pm

Q. May I take my spouse and guests to the monthly meetings and on Fly-Ins and Field Trips sponsored by SLAC?

A. Yes.

 

Q. Is the public invited to attend the monthly meetings?
             A. Yes.  The public is encouraged to attend the meetings.

Q. Should I wear my Name Tag when attending Meetings and Events sponsored by SLAC?

A. Yes.  There is a nominal $1 fine if you are not wearing a name tag or a SLAC jacket.

 

Q. Do I need to sign a Release of Liability Form if I participate in a SLAC activity?

A. No. 

Q. How frequently does SLAC hold Fly-Ins?

A. Fly-Ins are being scheduled as follows:

1.      There is a pancake breakfast fly-in to Coolidge on the First Saturday of each month sponsored by the Kiwanis Club

2.      Fly-ins are generally held by SLAC on the Third Saturday of each month October to May

3.      Field Trips are generally held on the Fourth Saturday of each month October to May

Q. Do I have to be a resident of Sun Lakes to become a member?

A. No.

 

Q. Does SLAC own any planes?

A. No.  All planes owned or rented by members.

Q. Do I need to attend the monthly meetings In order to be a member

A. No.  Many members cannot make the monthly meetings due to time conflicts or driving distances, however they participate in Fly-Ins and Field Trips.
