Dick Vaughn opened the
meeting at 9:32 A.M.
The minutes from the November
15, 2005 meeting were approved with the addition of the following text that was
inadvertently omitted, “Annual dues are
payable on January 1st. If a
new member joins after September, dues will be credited through the following
year. This policy does not apply to a
former member who wants to be reinstated or a member who has been delinquent
and wants to be reinstated. Membership
shall be cancelled when a member fails to pay the annual dues by April 1”. This revision will be incorporated in
the Policy and Procedures Handbook.
Ray Schrecengost reported that
the Club has $549.95 in its bank account.
Since last month some funds were used to re-supply pens that are given
to individual(s) who provide the program at a General Meeting.
Vern Nelson reported that the
SLAC web site has 1,186 visitors during November. During that time, 5,071 pages were reviewed by the visitors.
Bill Johnson reported on the
Fly-In to Las Vegas and the Field Trip to the ASU Mars Flight Center
Facility. He said the next Fly-In is
being planned for the third week in January to visit the March Field Air
Museum, Riverside, California.
Dick Vaughn reported that the
Club will conduct an election at the next General Meeting on December 21,
2005. The offices of Vice President and
Treasurer are scheduled for election this year. Ballots have been prepared with names of members identified by
the nominating committee and there will be a call from the floor for
nominations of additional names for the offices that will be voted upon.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS FROM LAST MEETING
An item tabled from the
November 15 meeting was a discussion regarding a new PA system that features
remote microphones. Sam Doria was to
explore various methods and equipment in order to provide a report regarding
cost and availability. Sam, however,
was not at the meeting and it was tabled until January. Another item discussed last month was a need
for a video projector, however the cost seems prohibitive.
NEW BUSINESS
Vern suggested that member ID
tags should be displayed from a lanyard rather than being clipped to a member’s
clothing. He said Jim Parish had done
some research on ID Tags. This is the
preliminary report forwarded by email from Jim Parish, “The Computer Booters have a neat ( cool ) identification badge. It
hangs from a lanyard around the neck and is encased in a 3x4" clear
plastic pouch. The cloth lanyard has "Computer Booters of Sun Lakes"
embroidered in it. It always stays in front, level, is large enough to read at
a distance and is very substantial.
I called their supplier and got a price for the same
thing, less the name of "SLAC" embroidered on it. The plain lanyard
is $1.80 plus $.60 for the pouch when ordered in lots of 50 coming to $2.40
each or $120. total. There may be a
cheaper source if we really were serious. This is for your info. Let me know if
you want more done. Jim”
No action was taken by the
Board.
The meeting was adjourned at
10:133 AM.
Respectfully Submitted
