SUN LAKES AERO CLUB BOARD MINUTES
January
10, 2012
The meeting was CALLED TO ORDER by President Bob Walch at 9:45 A.M.
Board members present: Bob Walch, Gary Vacin, Gary West, Dick Simmons, and Paul Beeks
Members absent: Monte Hoskins, Al Galvi, and Earl Cuyler
The MINUTES of the December, 2011
Board Meeting they were advisory only as there were only two members present,
the only discussion was about activites.
There was a report by the TREASURER. Bob Walch: The balance is $1147.08,This is
the year end balance. The meeting room rent has been paid for Oct 2011- May
2012, the web site has been paid for Sep2011-Sep 2012. Other items purchased last year include a
new mike, picnic, and a new amp. Bob Walch noted that we need to order pens to
give to the guest speakers, Bob will order.
Other items for 2012 include coffee
and gifts. The budget has an expected income of $1050.00(70 members @ $15.00).
It was noted that Monte Hoskins will be filling out the deposit slips and
taking the money to the bank when dues are paid. A motion to approve the
Treasurer’s Report was made by Paul Beeks and seconded by Gary West and then
passed by the Board.
A report of the upcoming
ACTIVITIES was made. A list of
the activities is on the website.
Activities scheduled For January
are: A flight to the Marana on 1/21/12 at 9:00am. On 1/28/12 a trip to
The Commemrative(Confederate) Air Force at Falcon Field in Mesa, meet at 8
AM at the flag pole. Bob and Monte will send out a notice to all
members on the Fly-In and activities with replies going to Monte Hoskins. Bob will also send out his regular notice on
the upcoming meeting. The Fly in
schedule is posted on the web site. A
list of the Clubs activities will be available at the meeting and can be taken
by the members. The change to the monthly fly in to the Saturday
after the general meeting and the field trips to the following Saturday has
been implemented. Note: Coolidge
Airport has a fly-in breakfast at 9:00AM the first Saturday of every month.
A PROGRAMS report was made. Gary Vacin
has the January meeting speaker, Steve Hosa, talking about the history of WWII
training in Arizona.
No report on PUBLICITY.
Bob Walch reported that the web site is up to date and he is working with Vern
to keep it current.
OLD BUSINESS: Verification of the plane
roster, Paul Beeks will contact the members thru Hohl, Gary Vacin will contact
thru Rosch, Dick Simmons will contact thru Sherrill and Bob Walch will contact
thru Woodbury. Then next month we can have the roster corrected.
NEW BUSINESS: We all need to think
about ways to improve participation for fly-ins. An effort to remove inactive members
was discussed with Mar/Apr to be a time
to drop those no longer active.
A motion was made by Gary West to make the living founders of SLAC
Honorary Life Time members(non dues
paying), they are Vern Nelson, Al Galvi and Elton Dyal. It was seconded byPaul
Beeks and passed by the Board.
Gary Vacin moved to adjourn the
meeting, Gary West seconded, the Board
approved. Meeting adjourned at 10:32 AM.
