The Sun Lakes Aero Club (SLAC) has announced its slate of speakers for the first three programs of the coming year.
The November 18 session will feature a presentation by Sun Lakes resident and SLAC member Len Estrin, who will discuss his experiences as a belly gunner on a B-17 bomber during World War II.
Mo Sheldon, who operates the Arizona Flying Circus, will talk about flying paragliders and ultralight aircraft during the December 16 program.
The January 20 speaker will be retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Carl Schneider, a pilot who trained at Williams Air Force Base (now Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport) and flew more than 100 missions in Korea and Vietnam.
Splash articles will provide additional information on each program in the coming months.
The club is negotiating with the Tuskegee Airmen Phoenix Chapter
for a presentation by one of its pilots at a future meeting.
Now in its 17th year, SLAC sponsors programs the third Monday of each month November through April at the Sun Lakes Country Club. The programs are open to all Sun Lakes residents and others interested in aviation.
