Mystery Member – A Jack Williams attended the January meeting of SLAC, paid his 2007 dues, and did not leave any information about himself.  He is not listed in the local directories.  If you know Jack, will you kindly send an email to Ben Thompson, Treasurer eagle2@wbhsi.net or telephone 480-391-1262 and let Ben know how to reach him?

·         April 18th Monthly Meeting:

Russell Pankey will be our featured speaker. His topic is:  "Grand Canyon National Park Airport -- Arizona's Best Kept Secret."  Russell served as airport manager at Grand Canyon for 10 years before his retirement in 2003.  He previously was Airport Manager at Springfield, Ill. for three years and 10 years at Missoula, Mont. and worked for Ozark Airlines in Iowa and Illinois for 16 years.

·         May 16th Monthly Meeting:

Lt. Col. Edward Linch, F-16 pilot from Davis-Monthan AFB will talk on Mid-Air Collision Avoidance.  He spoke to a group of us participating in a Poker Run Saturday at Marana Airport and did an outstanding job.  We were surprised and pleased at his willingness to come to Sun Lakes and give a presentation to our club.  Col. Linch is well-versed in the Luke AFB area, having flown F-16s while on temporary training assignment there

·         Thursday April 26th:

Sedona, Arizona for Lunch - We will meet at the Jim Cunningham Pilots Briefing Room at the Chandler Airport Terminal Building at 10:00 am. Leave at appoximately.10:15 a.m.  The flight to Sedona takes approximately 55 minutes.  We will meet at the restaurant for lunch (meal is on you). This will take approximately 1hr, We should be back at Chandler Field, at about 1:45 p.m.

Your spouse, significant other and guests are welcome.

 

The cost of flight is $25.00. Payable to Dick Vaughn.  Would appreciate the exact change please.

Tentatively looking at the new Lockheed Martin Flight Services building at Prescott.  Dick Vaughn is in touch
with Wm. Lamb Western Service Area Manager and trying to come up with a date that will work for the both of us.

Fall, 2007:

USS Midway Aircraft Carrier & Museum – San Diego, CaliforniaCarrier Midway

This Fly-In was cancelled in May 2006 due to weather conditions, and will be reviewed for a first Fly-In the Fall.  This destination
ranked 1st on the survey of members.

 

 

2007 Dues became delinquent on April 1st .  Click on www.sunlakesaeroclub.org , open the Roster and scroll down to your name.  If you have not yet paid your dues, please send a check for $10, payable to SLAC to Ben Thompson, Treasurer at 9704 E. Tranquility Way – Sun Lakes, AZ 85248

 

The SLAC Board meets on Tuesday April 17th at the Sun Lakes Country Club in Phase 1 at 9:30 a.m. in the Card Room in the Recreation Center.  You are cordially invited to attend these meetings.
