Biography
A veteran of over sixteen
(16) years in aircraft sales in various positions, Phil Scharber is the
Regional Sales Manager for HondaJet Southwest, a wholly owned company of Cutter
Aviation in Phoenix AZ. With
responsibility for the states of Arizona, Hawaii, California and Clark County
NV on behalf of Honda Aircraft Company.
A graduate of Sewanee
Military Academy and the University of Tennessee with a degree in Economics,
Phil began his aviation career in 1993 after a ten year career in the
securities brokerage business, first with E.F. Hutton and later with Smith
Barney Shearson as a securities consultant and professional money manager in
San Diego CA. Phil had chosen to make
San Diego his home after his release from active duty in the US Navy where he
had been a navy flier for a brief time.
Scharber’s aviation career includes positions with Signature Combs Aircraft
Sales (formerly AMR Combs) and The New AVEX, Inc. in Camarillo CA primarily
selling Piper Aircraft’s executive and corporate aircraft. Scharber was
previously involved with aircraft sales for Hawker Beechcraft Corp. in Van
Nuys, CA in the early nineties where he managed to fly everything
from the King Airs to the Starship, and the BeechJet. Just prior to joining Cutter
Aviation, he was owner and CEO for Phil Scharber Aircraft Sales in Atlanta GA,
an aviation sales and consulting business.
Phil is an accomplished aviator,
holding a Commercial Pilot’s license with Instrument and Multi-engine ratings
and has over 5,600 flight hours in all types of general aviation aircraft. He has flown everything from Cessnas, Pipers
and Mooneys to his beloved Beechcraft Bonanzas and Barons. He even has a little time in an SNJ-5 and a dual
control P-51D Mustang.
Phil and his wife Cindy,
and their two children Paden & Ashley, ages 11 and 9 respectively, make
their home in the East Mesa Foothill’s community of Las Sendas. Phil is very excited to be speaking here on
April 20th to tell us about
the latest new advanced light jet to enter the corporate aircraft
marketplace…the HondaJet from Honda Aircraft Company.
