Phillip Scharber

Regional Sales Manager

HondaJet Southwest

Biography

A veteran of over sixteen (16) years in aircraft sales in various positions, Phil Scharber is the Regional Sales Manager for HondaJet Southwest, a wholly owned company of Cutter Aviation in Phoenix AZ.  With responsibility for the states of Arizona, Hawaii, California and Clark County NV on behalf of Honda Aircraft Company.

A graduate of Sewanee Military Academy and the University of Tennessee with a degree in Economics, Phil began his aviation career in 1993 after a ten year career in the securities brokerage business, first with E.F. Hutton and later with Smith Barney Shearson as a securities consultant and professional money manager in San Diego CA.  Phil had chosen to make San Diego his home after his release from active duty in the US Navy where he had been a navy flier for a brief time.

Scharber’s aviation career includes positions with Signature Combs Aircraft Sales (formerly AMR Combs) and The New AVEX, Inc. in Camarillo CA primarily selling Piper Aircraft’s executive and corporate aircraft. Scharber was previously involved with aircraft sales for Hawker Beechcraft Corp. in Van Nuys, CA in the early nineties where he managed to fly everything from the King Airs to the Starship, and the BeechJet.  Just prior to joining Cutter Aviation, he was owner and CEO for Phil Scharber Aircraft Sales in Atlanta GA, an aviation sales and consulting business.

Phil is an accomplished aviator, holding a Commercial Pilot’s license with Instrument and Multi-engine ratings and has over 5,600 flight hours in all types of general aviation aircraft.  He has flown everything from Cessnas, Pipers and Mooneys to his beloved Beechcraft Bonanzas and Barons.  He even has a little time in an SNJ-5 and a dual control P-51D Mustang.

Phil and his wife Cindy, and their two children Paden & Ashley, ages 11 and 9 respectively, make their home in the East Mesa Foothill’s community of Las Sendas.  Phil is very excited to be speaking here on April 20th  to tell us about the latest new advanced light jet to enter the corporate aircraft marketplace…the HondaJet from Honda Aircraft Company.
